God Here - God Now

Welcome! This is a website for people who are seriously interested in their practice of religion. The focus of this site is the religion of Amitism, but it can also add a great deal to the religion you practice. Amitism is a faith that emphasizes your personal relationship to a benevolent, creative God. Amitism helps you express your love for God and God's continuing creation. It encourages you to be actively and intentionally compassionate with God's creation, of which you and all other beings are a part.

This webpage isn't only for folks who practice Amitism, because Amitism is not like many other religions in that it doesn't ask you to "convert", it is not in any competition with other faiths. Amitism isn’t about being a religion, its about intentionally practicing compassion, its about strengthening loving and caring relationships, and its about actively nurturing life. So you can take as much or little of this practice that you feel comfortable working with in your life. But the important thing is to start working harder to find God here, and God now in your life. I welcome you and I hope you will take a look around.

If your religion and your life are two separate things, and religion is something you have to make time for in your daily life, then you are seriously and sadly alienated from the big picture. You need to get over that.

You need to realize that the reason you are feeling anxious and confused and incomplete is because you have cut yourself off from the source of fulfillment. And no, I don't mean some otherworldly, esoteric, cosmic something-or-other, but a real, right here, already immersed in it reality of God's ongoing, present creation.

If you want to be a whole human being, and not some limited animal going through the social and economic motions dictated to you by the TV or some organization, then you need to open up to the complete experience a human can know. That means living the full measure of your life, 24/7! It doesn't matter what religion you belong to, what matters is that you are really living it.

You know you want to. You know its important. Click here to check out the blog!

Compassion - Strength - Vision

This site is about the practice of a simple religion. This religion teaches that human beings only exist within relationships. There is really no human being alone. As we practice this religion, we strive to nurture our healthy and caring relationship with God, and with other individual human beings. With intentional compassion, strengthening our habits of good-will, and sustaining a clear vision of how we want to live, Amitism will make an important positive change in us.

Here is a religious practice about Compassion, not Politics or Power

Many people back away from their relation to God, and to others within a religion because they are uncomfortable with the political connections, historical focus, or the power agenda present in so much religion now. A personal path and an interpersonal relationship with God has to be found too often in spite of the worldly concerns of the faith. Here you will find a faith that is not connected to any political agenda, to any historical injustices, to any debate over power or money or blame.

This is a practice that asks you to take responsibility for your spiritual connection to God, and to all other life here in God's creation. Its a question of whether you accept this invitation to joyfully and actively practice a religion of compassion. The practice of Amitism exist soley to nurture your relationship with God, and your caring relationship with others.

We can only live happy, fulfilling lives if we have good, nurturing interactions with those in our lives. And we can only survive as a species, in this world of growing technological power, if we put interpersonal good-will as the first priority of our decision making.

The religion of Amitism is about the importance and life-affirming power of compassionate relationships. If you are prepared to focus your religious practice on this, then Amitism can be a great blessing to you.
